Katherine Sehr

About the Artist

I record small rhythmic movements on paper. The time invested
results in an animated landscape. In the private act of drawing one
gesture leads to another. Choreography uses the mind, the body
and the grid. Writing uses the mind, the hand and the grid.
It was through this performative relationship that I began to translate
improvisational movement through line. An accumulation of
psychological traces slowly crawl across the surface creating it’s
own territory. Through the persistant meditation I am delineating
space on an intimate level. I wish to illustrate time through process.
