| About the Artist | |
Since 1999, Laurie Maves has been painting figures in various stages of beauty and vulnerability. Her works are often self-portraits conceptualizing mid-life change and growth. Her influences include: Boticelli, Frida Kahlo and Jean-Michel Basquiat, her media of choice: latex & acrylic paints, text, and various assemblage on canvas or recycled wood panels. |
