| Ambitious hobby photographer - How snapshots became photographs - In the mid 1990's I had decided to give up taking snapshots and learn all the ins and outs of photography. First, I attended workshops on how to correctly operate a camera according to the situation, how to read a photo shooting, do laboratory work and understand studio technology. I also took classes at the Free Art School Berlin. My main focus was on black-and-white-photography with an emphasis on portrait photography. At that time I used my beloved analogue Nikon FM2 with a 105/1.8 lens. I still consider this camera to be among my favourites. I used equipped studio light with steady light emitters to shoot my circle of friends for portrait studies. I am still grateful for their patience and the time spent on these memorable pictures. In addition, I have extended my photographic spectrum by taking up digital photography as an intermediate step of my further personal development. Next was to move from black-and-white to color. As of today, I have also begun to deeply engage myself in nature, street, and product photography. I truly enjoy to occasionally arrange small exhibitions in local galleries of my hometown Berlin. | |
