Jason Gibilaro (who attended St Martin's School of Art and Brighton School of Art and Design - from where he graduated in 1984) has exhibited his paintings extensively in solo and group shows.
Solo exhibitions include: "The Influence of India" at the Homerton Hospital, organised by the Whitechapel Gallery, 1990; "Berlin - Before and After the Wall", Christopher Hull Gallery, London, 1990; "Recent Paintings", Christopher Hull Gallery, London, 1992; Peterborough Museum, 1998; Royal Commonwealth Club 2004: "The True King of England" The Golden Heart London.
Group exhibitions include: Stowells Trophy Exhibition (Royal Academy of Arts), 1984; The Whitechapel Open Exhibition (Whitechapel Gallery), 1985; New Contemporaries (ICA), 1986; Royal Over-Seas League Exhibition, 1986; Brighton Festival, 1988; Edinburgh Festival, 1992; Royal Academy Summer Show 1995, 1999 and 2000; Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, 2000; Gallery Voltaire, London, 2000; "Art for Life", Christie's, London, 2004. Since 1995 been active (both on an individual basis and with the Public Works art group, of which he was a founder member) in instigating and bringing to completion a series of public art projects, many involving large scale vitreous enamel art work, for which he has developed a speciality - the Loughborough Junction "We Love It Here" mural, installed in 2002 and measuring 7 by 8 metres, being the largest example of this genre in Britain. Others include: the Loughborough Estate Mural Project, which was "Highly Commended" in the Wapping Arts Trust's prestigious 1996 "Art and Work Award"; two National Lottery funded projects - the Westbury Estate Public Art Project, opened in 1998 by Alan Howarth MP, Minister for the Arts; and the Fern Lodge Public Art Project, opened in 2002 by Tessa Jowell MP, Secretary of State at the Department of Culture. Other high profile projects include the Westbury Water Feature off the Wandsworth Road London, which was "Highly Commended" in the 2001 Marsh Fountain Award, organised by the Fountain Society; the 2004 Brixton Railway Bridge Project, the image of which was used for the launch of the Brixton Cultural and Creative Industries Showcase at the Mayor of London's headquarters in City Hall. The most recent project to date was the GKS Public Art Project consisting of 4 2 metre square murals installed on the exterior of an Elderly Sheltered Scheme. Opened in 2005.
