Born 1958, Glasgow, Scotland. Painter and Printmaker.
Living and working in North Yorkshire, England
Paintings and prints are landscape-based, abstract work. A member of the Leeds Fine Art Club and Harrogate & Nidderdale Group of Yorkshire Artists.
 |
| |
| About the Artist |
In the 1980s I was a musician playing keyboards touring with pop band Hue and Cry. I also wrote and performed my own songs. Now my creativity is expressed through my art.
My collagraphs and etchings are abstract explorations of the effects of Time on the landscape and the hope of rebirth.
My paintings are more colourful in acrylic, watercolour, pastel, collage - anything I can get my hands on. I suppose my musical roots inform my work - I like to use lively, gestural marks.
I am inspired by the Scottish mountains, the beautiful scenery in North Yorkshire where I now live and my travels to Italy and Spain. |
