Imagination and colors are the two main themes that I care the most. Immanuel Kant once said, “We discover our own entertainment through imagination.” Through imagination, I create my own experiences and thoughts; through paintbrushes, I now look at this world with more humor and persiflage. Also, through painting my self-portraits, I am involved in all different stories with all sorts of mythical, bizarre plants and animals. They all come from my mysterious dreams and unlimited imagination. All these characters enrich every piece of my creation; the images in the paintings constantly create more images and they take you to a fantastic visual adventure. |

Enter into Paradise

| Think about what you can find in the paradise. It is intriguing to think about this question. Like the little prince once asked, “What shape is that?” Then a bunch of little monsters came to my head before I even realized it, do I call them little monsters or what? Why am I interested in the paradise? Why? Why??? To me, the paradise is a pure land with no ends where I can run freely, same as “the hell”. The forming of the little creatures becomes the combination of dancing lines and colors. I express how I see lines and colors through them; however, I am very sensitive about lines, only this kind of rhythm would keep me alive. By looking at the different layers of lines and how the colors combine, I gradually put the pieces together about what my ideal paradise is like. |
