I was born in Newton Abbot, South Devon, in 1974. I left Devon aged 18 to go to university, lived in Vancouver for five months, worked and lived in London after that and then qualified as a teacher in 2000. Returning to Devon in 2002, I left teaching to follow my passion for painting only recently. I live with my husband and young son 10 miles from Dartmoor and 5 miles from the shore. |

My artwork is without a doubt inspired by my early years spent exploring the coast and moorland of Devon. My paintings are in many ways an emotional response to these places and an attempt to communicate the love and sense of awe I have connected to them. I am also endlessly fascinated by the sky. My passion for fashion I feel also feeds into my art through colour, texture and pattern. |
