I am an artist residing in San Antonio, TX. |

I work primarily in video, and am currently concentrating on a body of work that explores the idealistic nature of travel, and shedding one's personal history when in an unfamiliar place. I relate that personal history to global history by using monumental or historical backdrops in my video work. I also incorporate the figure as a vessel in all the works. |

| From the first series of "Gone Again", this body of work was filmed and photographed in Rome and Venice. The result of an Artpace travel grant, this work and most of my subsequent work utilizes location, history, architecture, and monumentality as a backdrop. The figure in these pieces lies prone and acts as an anchor, as the camera pans up to the sky and back down. The camera then becomes the physical manifestation of lightness and weight. |
