| About the Artist |
I'm only concerned with the links between sex, death and memory. Everything you see is an inspiration, It's impossible not to be affected by commercial art. It's best to never limit potential forms of input especially from sources you looked down on at the offset. Comics are as relevent as medieval icons, they're all produced for more or less the same reasons. Art is just highly personal advertising for the artist and his beliefs and should be treated as such. |

Memorial Masturbaton
2007 Oil on glass and mixed media 36x13.5x8.5cm |
|
It's exactly what the title suggests it is. It's potentially possible to make almost any subject more approachable with a bit of colour and some swirly bits. It's all oil painted on various materials except for the small roman letters which are tranfers bought in packs of four sheets from a well known high street stationers which are very versatile for an assortment of applications and competitively priced at only 99p.

Secular Altarpiece
2008 oil on glass and mixed media 61x40x11.5cm |
|
The phrase "mummy it's just a tomb template" came from reading across the titles on DVD cases in a shop. It's complete nonsense but I was at a loss for a better idea plus the more you look at it,the more it makes some sort if dis-jointed sense. There is no preordained destiny other than birth and death with a bit of obvious imagery thrown in for content. It'll probably never sell but I'm happy for it to hang above my bed for as long as it likes, like a chubby little personal jesus indifferent to all my creative sins!

5mileSmile
2007 Oil on glass and mixed media 21x21x8.5cm |
|
This is about death and memory(as all things should be when they're not about sex). Obsessively clinging onto thoughts of past victories whilst inadvertantly stifling further emotional development. It's actually a finished study for a much larger and infinitely more ambitious piece that I'm working on to prove that the above is no longer true of me.

Point of Contact
2007 Oil on glass and mixed media 29x29x7 |
|
The only certain point of contact is physical. Emotional connection is an illusion created to give hope beyond the isolation. Love is essentially parasitic. |
