I was born and currently live in Israel. My works are abstract and large in scale. I paint with thinned-out acrylic paints, applied to moist, primed canvas. My work is inspired by nature seen or imagined, filtered through the prism of my emotional landscape. |

My technique has similarities to fresco, requiring as it does a wet surface while the paint is applied. By using diluted paint, my method also has parallels to watercolor painting. When I apply the paint to a canvas, every under-layer is visible – and the result is a fait accompli. |

| Rotem Reshef has graduated from Hamidrasha School of Art, Ramat-Hasharon, Israel, in 1988. In 2004 she received an international Master’s degree in Museology from the Reinwardt Academy in Amsterdam. After living and working in Europe (2001-2004) and in the United States (2004-2007), she currently lives and works in Tel Aviv, Israel. | |
