My recent paintings are based on a series of collages of colouring book images. The linear outline of the collaged imagery is drawn directly onto the canvas grounds with paint. This imagery offers a counterpoint to the absract grounds. The relationship between figure and ground and between figuration and abstraction informs my work and provides a starting point for further conflicts and resolutions to unfold. |
