This piece uses Palamar's "huts" to comment on the often rigid similarity in suburban American neighborhoods. |
Hut of Huts
2004 acrylics on canvas 30.5 x 30.5 |
|
This image uses huts in the shape of a larger hut to reflect the way community is built through the spontaneous and considered actions of individuals. |
Denise's Hut
2005 20 x 20 |
|
This piece was created for the artist's sister as she reflected on the need for each of us to have a safe place, an innermost hut, to return to. |
Pointy Huts
2005 acrylics on canvas 41 x 51 |
|
This playful and colorful image gives an imaginative re-vision of community in the post-industrial world. |
Midwestern Green
2006 acrylics on canvas 61 x 82 |
|
This image reflects the monotony of the midwestern United States, but draws our attention to the development of "sense of place" even in an environment that seems, on the surface, to be bland and perhaps even inhospitable to the imagination. |
