Painter Adria Alfandari was born on July 29th, 1975 in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

| About the Artist |
From the phenomenon of creation, the artist’s speech must be comprised with several intentions, transforming the work itself into a comprehensive universe with whole values; Alfandari’s painting has that capacity.
Inviting us to a new figuration, a deconstruction, considering the German word “Auflösung” (dissolution-resolution), in which in the celebration of art, the observer discovers with full sight, from those aerial perspectives, regions of an archaic map of the world, out of time disturbance and primitive images, first of genesis of natural and historical events; reconstructing and disfiguring enough to leave a work open to interpretation and perception playing with the own elements innemes? of art.
Space transformations, distances and closeness, different perspectives make the new out of the basic, nature, man, animals, the Earth, all that rots and returns. Just like always.
With no type of vacuous modernist pretentiousness, Alfandari creates a system, where the texture makes something different of his work, adopting an identity and a way of operation truly of his own, he decides to experiment the alchemist’s way in his laboratory with the use, mix and recycling of organic and inorganic substances -coffee, sand, seeds, etc; with the understanding of its natural physical stages, macerating them with colors, discovering unique possibilities, obtaining a cavernous relief, in some cases ancestral, where shapes are formed and deformed; defying the natural static conditon of a picture, this one invades the space leaving outward itself, taking vengeance in the name of Art against these times where everything would be better if flat or slim.

| Education and biography |
In 1989 he made inroads of self-taught way in painting. His first works in paper, with pastel and fine coal, or his small layouts, where he mixes different materials, show a noticeable expressionist tendency.
In 1992 he spent some time at Mariano Zir’s studio, where he opened himself to experimentation and search of new pictorial languages. Recycling of materials and use of textures as expressives forces, are the outline of this phase.
In 1998 Adria went to Barcelona, where he settled down.
He began to frequent the Metacultura Academy of catalan artists Botter and Santaló, taking part in the Bacus group where emerging artists, mostly Spanish, gathered and travelled through Catalonia studying the landscape in long painting sessions, with passion by color and expressionists techniques.
In 2002 he returned to Buenos Aires and became attracted with the reality of that time. This led him to look for new tools, in order to communicate the social and economic complexity of the moment.
The disposable thing, expresses; the cardboard denounces; the violent dripping, alerts.
By that time, he began to use organic pigments, shaping his own palette.
That same year he met Chinese artist Chiu Tai Li, and started to work at her studio . By studying the Eastern painting, he discovered the expressive value of gesture and calligraphy, of spontaneous impulses, of random, of hint. Inks.... His work....
In 2004 he visited Patagonia, and he approached to rock art, which influenced his later work.
He learnt how to extract natural pigments experimenting with local vegetation, plants of calafate, mosqueta rose, etc.
Their last works display large dimensions, and texture is the main character, where by force of chisel and hammer the fabric turns into stone and cave.
The tribute to primitive art is a constant presence and the motto of his last works.
Rocky landscapes, isolated animals and out of time boats, compose a cosmogony which brings us back to the wild origins of the race.
Adria exhibited his works in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Barcelona (Spain).
