| About the Artist |
As an artist I take responsibility for my creations through exploration of a meaning of humanity and its aspects.
My paintings take time to gestate within me. An early stage of the process is to paint and repainting repeatedly in my head until the pattern emerges.
I only take a brush and oils when I can no longer handle the emotional weight of the painting which sits in my mind. Colours and thickness of texture is expression of an intensiveness I express as one of the main drives of my life. An unpainted canvas represents the idea of an emptiness where nothing can changed but where everything is possible. Each brush stroke is a diary of my emotional life, with layers of sub-consciousness filtering through. As I paint in my mind, I discover a new way of perception and experience the illumination of interpreting archetypal patterns. The finished painting is a result of redefining a first idea and how it changes through the passing time.
My paintings are the most natural way of my attempts at extending the definition of what I call “the humanity” with a thought that we have a certain limited amount of time which we are given to express this. I am looking for the harmony through being authentic in the observation how my present life is connected to the past and how the future is projected. I could not exist fully without the chance to enrich my life through this kind of expression, where I discover my ways to understand and make the world being less terrifying place.
