| Burke Paterson |
| |
|
Burke Paterson was born in Toronto, Canada in 1968, the same year his favorite car, the Pontiac Firebird coupe, was given rear sidemarker lights in the shape of arrowheads.
Burke lives outside New York City.
Recently, photography has been his chosen medium, after over a decade dedicated to sculpture in cast bronze and aluminum.
Works in progress involve a return to cast bronze and drawings on paper.
One day he imagines a return to painting: ideally whilst wearing a fine cut Italian suit bare foot on a thread-bare persian rug overlooking a lush urban ravine; a sable paint brush in one hand and a tumbler of scotch not far from the other.
 |
| |
| About the Artist |
When not making art, Burke sublimates his desire for beauty by obsessing over the sculpted steel that rolled out of Detroit's automobile factories in the mid to late 1960's.
