| About the Artist |
Artist statement: Currently my work centres on the themes of childhood memories and loss of innocence, drawn from my own experiences as a child and as a parent. I am particularly interested in the way that traumatic memories which have been repressed can often be expressed through other channels.
I have been exploring this theme concentrating on water and swimming as a metaphor for delving into the subconscious. Combining both photography and oil painting I have produced a series of haunting images representing the shadowy memories of childhood, distorted through time. |
