Caitlin Smail was born in New York but grew up in London. Her grandfather was the American artist and photographer, Curtis Moffat (currently showing at the V&A until Jan 2008). |
| About the Artist | |
Artist statement: Currently my work centres on the themes of childhood memories and loss of innocence, drawn from my own experiences as a child and as a parent. I am particularly interested in the way that traumatic memories which have been repressed can often be expressed through other channels. |

| Education and biography | |
| She studied for a dilploma in Art at the the Academie de Porte Royale in Paris before going up to New Hall college in Cambridge to read Art History. In 2004 she graduated from Central St Martins college of Art in London with a BA in Fine Art.
