Boy with Balloon Dog

Oil & acrylic on linen canvas mounted on wood panel.
41.91x40.64

Painting this work required many mixed emotions. Never having owned a dog I could not grasp the actual reality of having one, that mainly being the caring for one. The constant walking in all seasons and weather conditions. The title therefore reflects the best of all possible worlds of dog ownership for me. Perhaps dog owners should drop their leashes and free themselves. But then there is the companionship issue. I'm still very conflicted with this subject. More dog painting is needed here.

Education and biography
I'm also a memeber of and exhibit with the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition, the largest artist run gallery in New York City. Our space is on the New York City harbor on the Hudson Bay in Red Hook, Brooklyn, with a westerly view of the famed Statue of Liberty. Glorious sunsets & Art for the soul what more does one need? Four times a year we exhibit cutting edge works of ART free to the ART loving public. In 25,000 square feet of space, the shows are always of spectacular proportions.
I also exhibit in galleries in New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and especially where galleries are up for the challange.
