Clive Reeve

About the Artist

Clive is predominantly a painter , working in Acrylics with varied additional mixed media. His work reflects the tradition of European Pop Art.
During the 80’s, Clive’s early work reflected his passion for Punk polemics and the subversive illustrations of the underground press with his cartoons and graphics featuring in various Fanzine publications of the time.
Outside his portraiture commissions his private painted work is eclectic, diverse, full of visual impact and subtle symbolism and reflects his combined passion for propaganda imagery and the native elements of classic European Pop art. Expect to find Images of childhhod toys busy with coy subversion next to the Iconography of Power and martial history. Humour and reflective social comment reside in all his works.
