| About the Artist |
My work relates strongly to the experience of being in the landscape - in the north of England and in wild places such as Scotland, Nepal and Iceland. As well as being about places and experiences, my paintings are about the paint itself, so that the material forms an equivalence with the subject matter, creating a dialogue between medium and motif. I work mainly in oils and am an enthusiast of the work of artists as diverse as Lucien Freud, Michael Porter and Ian McKeever. |
