I was born in New Jersey in 1950. Some of my earliest memories of growing up on a farm are of making pots from a deposit of pure clay and the magical transformation of elemental materials through the process of firing. In 1970 I moved to England and, having remained here, there have been opportunities to continue the learning process of making pots through courses, teaching, working with other potters and sharing workshops. I have exhibited and sold pieces over many years through local shops,craft fairs, group exhibitions and to appreciating (and appreciated) individuals. Pots can be viewed and bought at Gallery 86 in Crediton, Devon, which opened as an artists' co-operative in 2007. |

| About the Artist | |
Working with clay can be both a solitary and/or social activity. Pot-making is an ancient craft and helps me to feel connected to the ancients and to the forces of nature. It is exciting, elemental and immense fun. Inspiration comes from the possibilities within the materials,with forms and embellishment from Native American traditional designs and beliefs as well as my own creative response to the piece. I love the precariousness of beautiful raku as well as the sturdiness of stoneware. |

| 1969-73 Ceramic courses at undergraduate level. 1974-77 Teaching pottery to boarding school children. Continued learning with short courses and experience of working with other potters.
