Derek Eland

About the Artist

Derek Eland is a UK artist who has exhibited his work nationally.

He looks for tension and patterns within landscape, which he highlights with strong dark lines, stark black and white images and occasional slabs of colour. His work is currently focused on the seemingly unstoppable growth of the world's global cities. This is the central theme of his current Contemporary Fine Art MA studies. Derek has held a number of successful solo exhibitions at Neo’s Gallery in Cockermouth, where he is a gallery artist and where his work frequently sells out. In 2007 his work was short-listed for the Celeste Art Prize.
