ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Everything I do is a portrait of myself. Even portraits of other people reflect aspects of myself. For example, through painting and printing I am not trying to represent the world as I see it, but as I feel it.
I see every image in a shifting way, caught by flickering sunlight and shadows to evoke fleeting moments and movement. At times I also see these images in shifting sequences, which may suggest individual or group narratives.
We all scan the lives of others for echoes that make sense of our own. Certain interests, like facial disguises, are becoming central to my work, as though past experiences are constantly bursting into the present.
