| Francisco Rosado |

Francisco was born in Hato Rey- San Juan ,Puerto Rico, and raised in Saint Just, Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico. Throughout the early 1990's he played guitar and co-conceptualized the local pioneer Spanish punk bands, RECHAZO SOCIAL/LOPODRIDO. He had his first brush with visual arts doing the band's collage posters and distributing them all over the metropolitan area. Eventually he entered Escuela de Artes PlÃsticas de Puerto Rico, became an honor student, and received a scholarship in 2002. Since that same year he has been permanently established in Chicago. In 2004 took again his studies at NEIU. email:

| About the Artist |
My interest in music and writing, combined with my experiences growing up on la Isla and then living in New York, Toronto and Chicago, fuel my desire to create experimental conceptual visual art in multiple forms and expressions. My art accents the impure, the ambiguous and the influence of multiple civilizations, which, for me, is the essence of growing up Puerto Rican. Or being Human? I have used Digital, Event, Film, Installation, Painting, Performance, Photography, Sculpture, Video, and Music as media to do my work.
AWARDS--
2002 Quality of work Special Seminar Award of contemporary art. A trip to Feria Arco in Madrid, Spain and visits to the best museums in Barcelona, Bilbao,
and Madrid.
1994 Winner in the poetry category of the “Twenty Eighth English Literary Contest” at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras campus.
COMMUNITY WORK--
Taught art and tutored Latino children in Chicago Public Schools After School programs.
PS: THIS IS just a small fraction of my work. I can also produce digital art, graphic art, murals, sculpture, interventions, installations, video, film work and any other sacred cow of contemporary art. My visual/sonic work formation has educated me in 3d aesthetics.
