| Geoff Chaplin |

|
1950 vintage, Leicester, UK
Geoff was educated as a mathematician and trained in astronomical photography, then spent a career in finance (insurance and investment banking). He has had a lifelong interest in art – his father was an artist – and photography, and for some years worked semi-professionally as a photographer. From 2005 he moved to Hokkaido, Japan, and has been dedicating his time to art using non-traditional (and non-digital) techniques.

| About the Artist |
Geoff’s motivation is to communicate concepts through his art. These include the uniqueness of human personality (“Hokkaido Barn” series); what constitutes art (“Rusting Steel” series); mortality and perception of the universe; and space, time and perception (to be released 2009). He uses photographic and non-photographic means to portray his thoughts. |
