In my work I’m investigating our insignificance as human beings. From the beginning of the industrialization at the start of the 20th century, the world is changing more and more rapidly. The mining had reached its highest development at that time. It’s just in this sector of human activity that we experience our insignificance. In the old industry plants, like the Landschaftspark Duisburg or the Zollverein, the visitor can still feel this insignificance.

The emptyness in my work is a simple manifestation for this insignificance. There is a fascinating cooperation of this emptyness with formal aspects like format, colour and line. Sometimes the feeling of insignificance has been overwhelmed by colour. Because of this, the human being can free himself from the restrictions that surround him and flow with the colour to a world that exists outside his own environment
