| About the Artist |
I work as a freelance illustrator, stylist and designer: different fields which all include visual storytelling and different fields which inspire each other. Apart from that, my inspiration comes from real life and real people - their stories, their attitude, or just tiny details - as well as versatile characters I find in books, movies or songs.
In illustration I appreciate and enjoy the challenge of drawing in different styles related to different projects, as this enables me to continually grow, learn and feed my curiosity. I like to work on special themes with background and research: first of all, you have to understand the subject and/or the text with your heart. After that, you can distill the essence of it - and then visualize it, make it alive and make it sparkle.
Personally, I have a passion for details that can tell whole stories beyond what you see at first sight and that add layers and life to a picture: This is what makes me smile when drawing and this is what makes my work and the whole process so precious to me. |
