| About the Artist | |
I am inspired by the human form and spirit. My interests extend into shamanism, anthropology, cave art, pre-history, chaos&patterns, cosmology, physics and how we relate as humanity. I think of my paintings as visionary images which are born out of my dream. I believe that we dream the world we create and that therefore the dream is an essential part of our perception and reality. I see the purpose of my images in creating essential visions for a different reality. I believe that culture is the produce of people coming together and that we evolve more culturally than physically. Thus racial differences are secondary to cultural differences. It is not our race that determines our evolutionary course but the state of our culture. I believe that the importance of a piece of art is not found in its form but in the cultural reference given by the artist. |

| to me St George is an allegory of the interaction of heaven and earth, male and female, that portraits a distorted act of love which in pagen times, perhaps, would have been a lot more obvious. The dragon is and always will be the gatekeeper to the subconcious and to defeat the dragon is to gain access to this realm. I was inspired to paint this after a visit to Paros, Greece. |
