I'm a fiery Aries, born in "The Year of the Snake", aka 1977, in Wichita, Kansas. I'm less quiet than you think- I see more than I want to sometimes (most of the time I'm simply amazed at life- its beauty and its utter horror)- I'm curious- I'm silly- I'm focused- I'm probably less and more than what others expect.

| About the Artist |
The three C’s of my work are conflict, contradictions and childhood. Fairytales and their macabre life lessons are always in the back of my bouncy brain. Bubbling under the surface of my images are issues of censorship, taboo, identity, labels, desire, restriction, power, beauty, duration, immediacy, and the search for meaning and compassion. These issues are both contemporaneous and interminable. I’m interested in exploring that which is strange and yet familiar; what Freud describes as “the uncanny”. In exploring what it means to be a person who is both feeling and thinking, part of the universal whole that is everything, and very much cordoned off into my individual consciousness; I hope to communicate to the viewer that my struggle is a point of relation and empathy for the human dilemmas which we all encounter. |
