Jennifer Kilgour was born in Glasgow, Scotland and is now based in Fintry, Stirlingshire. She studied at Edinburgh College of Art graduating with a BA (Hons) in Visual Communications, Animation in 1997. After further study of an HND in Professional Photography at Glasgow College of Building & Printing, finishing in 2001, she felt compelled to return to her fine art roots and started oil painting in 2005.

Having no formal training she embarked on the challenge of painting. In 2006 she enrolled at Cyprus College of Art, Lempa, Cyprus for the year-long Postgraduate Diploma of Fine Art course. She found her love of the figure and portraiture helped her to create a portfolio of which she is proud. After gaining a wealth of experience in Cyprus, she is now continuing her work in Scotland. Preferring to work from life she also maintains her photography skills painting from her own prints. Specialising in portraiture she is looking for exhibition opportunities and commissions.

As a slightly more commercial venture she is delving into the world of illustration, creating a brand of greetings cards, “Fintry Faeries”, named after the village, where she currently resides.
