Grew up with a lot of freedom and outdoors to run around in, in Grand Rapids, Michigan (1960s). All my grandparents were immigrants so I grew up with an outsider's eyes.

| About the Artist |
I’m interested in making art about life, not so much art about art. Paying attention to experience has its own rewards, providing endless ideas for new art.
One of my goals is the successful integration of subject, form and content. When I think about possible images I think in terms of metaphors, mini-narratives. |

| Education and biography |
| Started drawing as a little kid, studied painting in high school and then drawing and composition in college before losing courage and getting a practical degree...got a second chance, so went back to college for a fine arts degree (UT-Austin). Inspirations are everywhere, my own life or the larger world. Have to restrain my imagination to be consistent w/ images. Please see my pages on jillalo.com or artist.de for resume. |
