| Johannes J Musolf |
| |
|
German Object-artist
Born 1944 in Steinheim/Westf.
Living in Braunfels/Lahn
 |
| |
| About the Artist |
Johannes Musolf's art concentrates on vulnerability - on physical and mental vulnerability of human beings. His figures and torsi are either imprisoned in wooden boxes or exhibited as objects or sculptures. They present human beings in various stages of their development, struggling with fears and anxieties or rebelling against repression.
The materials Johannes Musolf uses are wood, metal, textiles, paper and wire netting. His figures are first formed in papiermâche, then recreated in wire netting and stuffed with printed paper of various kinds.
The same materials are used for his one-dimensional collages. Thematically these combine biting irony and childlike lightness.
