Born and raised in New Jersey, that is where I began my artistic studies.

| 关于此艺术家 |
I first learned about sculpture and installation art through making in a way that seemed most natural to me. I am currently inspired by and working with ideas of time and am interested in domestic or personal space. |

Covered and Enclosed
2007 |
|
Crocheted blankets cover a row home, making a separation between interior and exterior. |
At the Table (From the Installation: One Year and Thirty-Six Inches)
2008 |
|
This installation was comprised of 70 blankets crocheted together, and hung from my apartment ceiling, forming walls, approximately every three feet.
This work included the long installation process and the time that I lived in the work.
I opened my house to show the physical installation, and the work now exists in a large number of photographs. |
Closing Myself In (From the Installation: One Year and Thirty-Six Inches)
2008 |
|
Outside on my balcony on a summer day, I close myself off from everyone else.
I have crocheted a wall of 20 blankets together, making a seamless wall bridging interior and exterior.
This makes it impossible to close my balcony door. Or turn on my air conditioning. |

The Quilt
2006 room sized |
|
This is a room sized installations with a welded steel quilt that takes over the room. This work includes a bed, pillow with indent where head would be, bed frame, white sheets which also become doorway, welded steel quilt, white walls, black fabric ceiling, and lighting which makes viewers shadows interact with piece. |
Conversation (Entrance View)
2006 Room Sized |
|
When entering this room-sized installation you are confronted with a hallway filled with hanging teacups. As you enter you have no choice but to hit into the teacups, they swing and clink together. The floor is covered in excessive amounts of maroon colored fabric. |
Conversation (View with person)
2006 room sized |
|
At this point, you see a person in a chair, mostly, though not completely, separated from the teacups by fabric walls. She does not engage with you. You realize that the maroon fabric of her dress is flowing into the floor. You have been walking on her dress. |
The Masses
2003 18 |
|
This sculpture is an oversized non-functional chair made from steel.
The seat of the chair is lined with velvet and holds two hundred and fifty small aluminum flashing chairs. The small chairs, fill the seat facing in every direction. All seem to be in different moments, some are overturned, some are in lines, some in groups, some in pairs, and some even in the mass seem to be alone. However, taken as a whole they seem to be like cheap rings or sparkling candy wrappers, all the same and all dispensable. |
Escape
2007 |
|
The original seat to this chair has been removed.
In its place, thread has been wrapped around the frame of the chair.
The thread continues up the back of the chair and extends the back into the form of a rope ladder, which connects to the wall.
The large spool of thread sits at the base of the chair, implying that the work will be continued. |
