Lawrence Marshall

About the Artist

Lawrence’s imagery is borne from intense observation and interpretation, particularly with natural subjects. One of his major quests is the maximisation of detail in the rendition of nature.
While natural light can be intensely exciting to work with, Lawrence's imagery is not confined to this kind of light. Toned and dyed black and white images form a growing part of his output.
Influences include David Hamilton,Ansel Adams,Cecil Beaton and Dorothea Lange. Art influences include Andrew Wyeth,Carravaggio,Sargent and the French Impressionists.

His most recent Solo Exhibition ”Shadows and Light” (2005) combined realist depictions with toned and dyed black and white images.
