| About the Artist | |
The work is based on female sensibilities, characteristics, stereotypes and paraphernalia. Continually looking at how women are seen and designed in society by both themselves, men and advertising etc. My work always shows a sense of restriction- be it literal or metaphorical- often these things are communicated by a sickeningly sweet sense of beauty and over bearing femininity... I find that the more I work and shoot the more I discover about where these ideas come from and why. |

| Education and biography | |
| I graduated in 2005 after completing a three year full time photographic diploma at Ruth Prowse School of Art. I recieved two scholarships based on merit for my last two years of study. Exhibited in collaborative show "An Evening of Erotica" with Uwe Pfaff, Tay Dall, Richard Scott at the Rossouw Galery February 2006. Exhibited in "Pride: Photographic Exhibition" at VEO Gallery, February 2006. Exhibited in Collaborative show "Erotica Art" at seidelberg Wine Estate, March 2006. Selected to exhibit in the Vuleka Exhibition September/October 2006. Participated in Group Show "Art of Dance" October 2006. Art Charity Auction at Allesverlorn Wine Estate, 2007. Cultivaria 2007, Art Festival, Paarl. "Baring" Curated by Eunice Guestyn at the AVA in Cape Town. Finalist for Sasol New Signatures, Pretoria Art Museum, 2008. Finalsit for the Sanlam Vuleka Competition at ArtB Gallery, Belville, 2008. Exhibited in Group show for Cultivaria 2008, KWV Cathedral, Paarl. Cape Town Moth of Photography 2008- Group Solo Show @ 3rd World Gallery, Cape Town. Curated and showed for "Re-Nude: Beyond the Body" at Exposure Gallery, Cape Town for MOP 2008. |
