Eat Hope

2006

Eat Hope
Organized light delivery constructed from digital pictures taken of the painting during construction. The only light visible is the regurgitated life span of the painting that is then projected on the painting its self.

Eat Hope

Swimming next to a Space-Heater I broke to find myself swimming next to a space heater, unable to rely on my spouse I decided to float parallel to this electric moment. Thinking that this is the time of my life and I should live it well, I could be wrong though, but I couldn't tell. The slight breeze set me back along that over grown road. This is when I slammed my face against the flap of moisture to emirs it in the rusted waters. Waiting for the signal to reemerge. Gosh the sun looks wonderfully indirect under the water. Collapsing into it’s self in countless rebirths of these squeamish digestions. Reclining I can see the space heater floating above me. It beckoned me to drift its way. Reaching in a sanctimonious manner, I couldn’t resist the temptation. The dogs at the door also felt that we should collide, as all that echoed in the bubbles below was, “I got what you are looking for.” So I kept swimming listening to the muffled echoes fading in each swish of the pool’s circulation. Trying now to replace the missing pieces to proceed with the meaning of this event. Why did she let go of me? Dropping me right out of the skies. Dropping me out of the tub, rounding the surface and then walking away. While humming to the chattering waves of devotion flustering me with the feeling, that I’m so tired of living entirely. A tingling touch grazed the back of my spine, like abandoned toenail clippings that are politely cutting the bottoms of your feet. I can remember everything, well they say, I abbreviate to construct a continuous trail of enjoyment. I started the ambition by grabbing the heater from the hall closet and moving it to accompany me in a delicious stay without air. This is when it all stopped, or should I say ended the inapt reflex. While retrieving all the teachings that have become expired, I split myself while clutching electric metal into the dainty pile of clear blue liquid. The luminance appeared to fray in a million directions and then retreated into one. It sounded like the exploding lungs of a screaming elephant. And all I kept doing was looking around. As I float with my head against the grainy floor allowing my feet to graze the surface. A drone yawned like a whale for miles of reach. The yellow glow flew into my eyes pushing against the back of my head, suspending all thought leaving me tasting black. All in tune with the space heater, whispering in my ear, “elephant shoe.” I began to fall in love again. Lennon Michalski www.lennonmichalski.com

Left Holding the Umbrella
Loss of Control (a fortunate beginning) This body of work reflects the perception of losing control when interacting with another person. I am interested in displaying the build up of aggression in a relationship when two people discover their personal interests and agendas are at odds with one another. A seemingly dominant figure can be reduced to an inferior position. My imagery consists of distorted human figures caught up in aggressive interactions that are gracefully colliding with one another. The more intense abstractions lacking a solid form deal with the emotional states of these clashing personalities. Through these images, I hint at the logic behind shifts in power and highlight the physical emotions that accompany the loss of control. Lennon Michalski 2008 www.lennonmichalski.com
