| About the Artist | |
Desire is entangled with anxiety and doubt. The decision between suppressing and satisfying a craving creates a point of tension leading to an assessment of the coveted object. The predicaments that I create for these figures examine the validity of their desire. Dessert imagery is used to symbolize the coveted object or situation because sweets are pleasurable but frivolous and unnecessary. This suggests that the coveted is not very wholesome or beneficial and may potentially be inconsequential. The figure suffers for a mere pile of sugar. |
