Marcia Sandra Woods

Born in Brooklyn NY in 1960.
I believe the two required components all artists must possess are the beliefs in one’s own talent and the pursuit of his or her dreams. My dream is that the spectator will not only see what I see but also what will be seen by his personal interpretation.

About the Artist
A multitude of connoisseurs and purchasers of my artistic endeavors has afforded me the compliment of likening my work to that of Jackson Pollock, despite the fact that I produce it with my own inimitable style. One aspect of my definitive singular vision is “head, heart, hand” and the adherence to the notion that “everybody was nobody before they were somebody.” |

Education and biography
I attended Pratt Institute and Parson’s School of Design and studied under the tutelage of Rosa Kozmolov for three years. As far as the development of talent is concerned, I tend towards the idea that “art cannot be taught, it can only be discovered”. Such is the mantra I apply to artistic creation. I am inspired to continue to produce work by a deep respect for artistic individuality, fruits of rigorous practice, and other family members such as my cousin and acclaimed artist Alain Kleinmann.
