| About the Artist | |
In her latest body of work Marika Borlase turns her wry visual imagery toward an examination of contemporary culture and its obsession with fame. Using heightened colour and a complex overlay of patterns uber-chic figures parade amidst a heady world of classical architecture. In a context reminiscent of Rococo excess, these works mirror western society’s materialistic mania. |
