| The faces are intentionally lacking in detail, leaving something for the imagination to play with. This lack of detail evokes the ghostly feeling which can sometimes be felt in a dark nightclub, catching only glimpses of faces in flashes of coloured light. |

In The Grass

| When I was a child there was a tiny patch at the end of the garden which was left to grow wild. I can remember the grass being taller than me, and how small I felt walking into it. This painting is in memory of that feeling.
The painting is just under a metre wide, wide enough to dominate the field of vision if viewed from quite close-up, enhancing this feeling of smallness in the viewer. |
