| Melanie Stinson |
| |
1952, Bowling Green, Ohio USA
I use fiber, ceramics, digital art, multiart collages and art narratives with and without language, as well as energy realignment techniques such as Reiki and Crystalline Consciousness Technique to connect viewers and art owners to the divine within. As a healing artist/writer/dancer, I hope that through the process of discovery and establishing a felt connection that my art will bring wonder, well-being, inspiration, and help illuminate the process of transformation within and around us.

| About the Artist |
Melanie A. Stinson, LMT, CCTP, RMT, has always used the arts to explore herself and her life. Her art connects her and you as viewer/participant to metaphor, allegory, yarn, restoratives and the multiple meanings of our resonant language. She has had a variety of Kiss of the Faerie/Fairy experiences: an installation and fashion show in Toledo's Artomatic419 Lite; exhibits of varying sizes in the Whitehouse, Ohio Library, Squeakers Vegetarian Cafe and Health Food Store, and the Sanger Branch of the Toledo Lucas Public Library, and Enchanted Fairy Art Card readings during the Bowling Green ArtWalk.
Melanie is a member of WeAR This, a group of Northwest Ohio women artists focusing on wearable art that helps women be the unique work of art that they are. |

| Education and biography |
The daughter of a painter and creative arts teacher, Melanie studied ceramics with Julie Beutler supplemented with workshops with potters such as Steve Roberts and Ann Tubbs. She studied design with the late Tom Davenport at Bowling Green State University, and went on to learn Paintshop Pro and Photoshop. Although she is by no means a professional photographer, photography is sometimes used in her art. She sewed extensively and learned macrame in high school and college. After many years, she returned to her love of fiber art and found herself led to her own macrame techniques to create her wearable art wraps, overtops (ponchos), and vests, as well as the occasional brooch.
Melanie's Kiss of the Fairy continues to expand from its first virtual experience/ exhibition. Melanie now offers her healing art on several web sites, including pofff.com for children. Her wearable art now includes child and the child-within oriented pieces such as Fairy Pockets as necklaces, pins, and land/seascapes. The pockets contain a fairy poem or prayer. Since fairy is about nature and play, Melanie created several games and invites viewers to find the faerie in her art. Her games include a deck of special art cards called Bliss Cards to be used as sources of daily inspiration and/or meditation, and for Enchanted Fairy Art Card readings, a small set of Reiki blessed and CCT-conceived cards and a variety of ceramic gameboards to be used in conjunction with the fairy cards. |
