About the Artist

Michael Spahr (VJ Rhaps) creates collages of moving images. He is collecting pictures all over the world and creates new worlds. After creating video art (moving stills) he transforms video into high resolution stills (frozen films).
Michael Spahr is also a performance artist and visual jockey (VJ).

Education and biography
Michael Spahr (VJ Rhaps) has been working as an artist since the early 1990's. He has performed as a live video artist (visual jockey) in numerous collaborations in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
He studied history (Master of Arts), philosophy and media science in Bern (Switzerland) and Amsterdam (The Netherlands). He took video and art classes in different schools in the Netherlands and Switzerland.
Since 1998 he has been working as a professional filmmaker and artist. Since 2003 he is an independent artist and filmmaker.
