Mikael Nilsson

I was born in the small town of Skovde in 1971, which is located in the southwest part of Sweden.
|

About the Artist
My main focus is on painting, but I have also exhibited photography, sculpture and installations. I received my Master of Fine Arts in 2005 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Trondheim, Norway, after having studied at various Art schools in Sweden and Norway. Currently I live and work in Stockholm.
In my work I try to create something new out of things I have experienced in my everyday life. Since our brain have a tendency to distort and “colour” memories by time, I try to find a more direct way of depicting something. By rearranging colours and shapes, photos and memories, I try to recreate what I have experienced.
