| About the Artist |
A western painter and graphic artist, my work reflects Japanese aesthetics, especially the traditional concept of Yugen, derived from symbolic Noh theatre. All images center on a woman placed in an environment alluded to by architectural elements. A flower is always found to suggest lintering charm. The presentation, in a collage-like fragmentation, is to express the interaction between the externals of appearance and the dark, hidden mysterious inner nature of the self of woman, who can be known only through artistic experience. |
