Pollyanna Pickering

About the Artist

"My love of wildlife has always been the greatest inspiration for my work as an artist.

Driven by the beauty and intricacy of the wilderness, I have travelled into some of the most remote and inhospitable parts of the world, to study and paint endangered species in their increasingly fragile habitats. My greatest hope is that mankind will leave parts of our world unexploited and unpolluted so that the wildlife will be there to provide inspiration and wonder for many more millennia. Through my paintings, I hope to bring people's attention to animals they may never encounter first hand, but whose very existence is irrevocably linked to ours in the grand scheme of the natural world.

When I travel I am able to experience the natural world in all its beauty, danger and drama. It is only through this first hand study of animals and their habitats that I am able to paint in a way which communicates my love and respect for our remarkable, awe-inspiring but ultimately fragile world. "
