Project Tonal

The project Tonal is a visual project in which I used both classical as well as modern visual techniques , painting on canvas combined with the modern visual expressions such as digital animation and the use of modern technical tools and approaches, mostly a computer, projector and manipulation with the lights and sound. All this was combined with the intention of achieving intense representation of the idea itself, which would guide the observer through the concept of the project and its story towards the different understanding of the contemporary consumer society.
Thus, Tonal is supposed to represent the playground of the things without any real value that were randomly picked up and purchased in a store. The next step was the physical manipulation of the chosen objects and the organization of them into a visual installation. This represented the basis of the project.
What followed was the advanced and more precise work on the basic concept with the computer in order to make the project more interesting and appealing for the observer. I used animation to upgrade what the observer could already see (paintings and installations) with the purpose of creating a visual pressure on the observers' consciousness by combining the digital part of the project with the installation.
The final act was to use the classical technique acrylic on canvas with the intention of mystifying the images of the before mentioned steps and with it present a new story. Consequently, all the visual images in Tonal are graphically powerful, for they follow the story and the essential intention of the project, which is to change the view on consumerism which nowadays occurs in two instances: either we spend a lot of money on shopping, because we simply enjoy it or we intellectually fight consumerism, because we believe in the negativity of the shopping centers.
Tonal is first and foremost the story of human experience. An
experience which allows people to be able to manipulate the state of
the consciousness in each and every moment with his/her own momentary
inspiration rather than the one whose consciousness sees only black and
white.

Painting has been a passion all my life so, after ending my formal education ,I have started with some real Painting and I keep on painting.Project Tonal is my first solo show.
Before Tonal, my works were a part of an group show.Most of my Paintings are part of private Collections in many different Countries around Europe.
