| About the Artist |
A given image (a found image) is an excuse to initiate a series or several, a compendium of formal problems to be resolved. This is a rational approach in order to start a creative process, in which the material (the canvas, the wool, the MDF, felt, lace, etc) has also been ‘found’.
The works shown in this gallery share a period in time that covers several years, and a similar technique – a process. This process is called by Fernandez ‘the power of transformation’, which comes from the ability to adapt, whatever the given circumstances, materials, subject - matter and media. After all, for Fernandez the most important thing is not to stop the creative process, since there is nothing she fears as much as the stagnation.
