My name is Riccardo Congia, I was born on 8/3/80, into a Sardinian family in Parma, Italy. I have lived in Cagliari, Sardinia, since 2003, for climatic and personal reasons. I work when I can, and I study.

We are an infinite concatenation of details - our real limitation, an ancient closure of the mind - obscurely evolving by devouring the past. Every human being has memories, dreams, and sources to take apart. So in my drawings, I seek to show my contempt for the incontrovertible facts of time and history. You will find here no concrete and unifying 'oneness', but a kaleidoscope of violent acts which, through some bitter turn, become ludic. In this human landscape, I clone, sadistically and sadomasochistically, the sufferings of our millions of fantasms and humanoid monsters. Almost all are in line for certain death - the sick man slumped in front of the TV, the depraved videopoker addict murdered by a cyclopean virtue, the scythe-bearing woman, her feet patched with dancing bandages, with, around her, the three magi as three reactions to the pain of infernal psychophysical fire: the howling man, the stoic and the masochist.
I draw for the simple pleasure of it, to throw up my pain; like the cavemen drew scenes of war and hunting, I, in my cave of existence, draw my own prehistory made of the monstrously incomparable violences of older prehistories.
