|
Sally Smith was born providentially outside the gates of Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire England. Raised in picturesque Burford she soon married and proceeded as a young women to renovate & restore heritage cottages. Many years later Sally and her partner migrated with their two children to Australia. Sally, soon after arriving, commenced the Study of Art & Design at Perth Technical College, majoring in Studio Ceramics. She furthered these studies in the early nineties at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia, with the study of fine art, majoring this time in Textiles & Design. Whilst continuing these pursuits, raising another child and opening her own floristry business, Sally began to explore her creative potential further and discovered a great love for painting.

| 关于此艺术家 |
Sally Smith creates illuminative works which combine her studies of studio ceramics, fine art and textile making.
Sally's art is a celebration, is an exploration, of life through the imaginative force of vibrant colour, texture and form, placed in seemingly random configurations until closer inspection reveals a subterranean poetry of sensual cohesion.
Sally's work is, thus a visual metaphor of her relationship to the world. She expresses through her painting that exact fusion of spontaneity and purpose that she sees reflected in the beauty of nature and in the finest moments of cultural achievement.
"My art is something like the lens through which others can interpret my perceptual field. What I hope, is that such interpretation can offer an experience of beauty and of connection that so often goes unseen in the frenzy of modern life. If I can, through my work, summon a moments' reflection, a sense of presence, an awakening of the slumber of feeling, then I know my work has been worthwhile." |
