| About the Artist |
When discussing my work, I’m often asked whether it is painting or sculpture? Even though the pieces may have sculptural elements, in fact, my interests are not sculptural. And while I am very interested in painting, these are not paintings. They are, however, about painting—the ‘process,’ not the ‘product.’ The pieces start with a subject. The color is mixed, but the paint never leaves the palette. Obviously, each piece comments on the repetitious nature of painting. Ultimately, it’s the metaphor that serves the piece. The irony is, that while trying hard to avoid the product, I seem to end up with one. |
