Since moving away from Denmark to the south of France in 2005 I have continued painting in chiascurro and more regularly with a broader range of colours. Returning to painting in chiascurro has helped me identify the issues of paint handling and simplifies the process of painting, using colours is technically more challenging as I paint alla prima (wet on wet painting)and mix the colours as I put them on canvas. My current inspirations come from the people that I see every day and the way that they unconciously hold their bodies whilst doing the most mundane things. |
